{ippity} cards

For a time I was lucky enough to be a part of Unity Stamp Co's select team of {ippity} chicks! The chicks sell an exclusive line of Unity stamps called {ippity}.

These stamps are fantastic! (as all Unity stamps are in my opinion). They are made from deeply etched red rubber and are manufactured with the highest quality static cling foam allowing you to adhere each and every stamp to ANY acrylic block.

Unfortunately for me, being an {ippity} chick didn't work out :( I love the connections and friendships I made while I was a part of the team and I love to see all the improvements being made in the program! If you can, you should select yourself an {ippity} chick off of the Unity website and place an order today!

Here are some of the sample cards I made during my time with the chicks!

Stamp sets: Music of my Heart (sentiment), Now & Always (flowers)

 Stamp set: Regal Greetings

 Stamp Set: Fishy Philosophy

Stamp sets: Fall for You (sentiment) Now & Always (flowers)

Stamp set: Regal Greetings (sentiment), The Simple Things (flowers)

 Stamp set: Simply Home

Stamp set: Love in Return

My Lucky Boy!

Ok, I know that this isn't a papercrafting post, but I just had to share.  My son Sullivan just turned 1 and for his birthday my mom (the quilter extraordinaire!) made him a Turtle rag quilt!  It is SO adorable!!!
In case you are so inclined, she made this little guy from this Simplicity Pattern.  You can see how big the turtle actually is in the pattern photo.  The best thing is you get 3 quilt patterns in one!
They also have this other pattern set. I had bought both sets for my mom when I was still pregnant since I didn't know if we were having a boy or a girl.
I secretly want her to make them all! Somehow I think that is wishful thinking! Maybe I need to learn how to quilt...ya right!

Dry Erase Message Frame

I loooooove Pinterest!! in fact, I'm pretty sure I'm addicted to it.  While mindlessly pinning away the hours one evening I found this cute little project...
I never knew you could write on glass with a dry erase marker!

So I had to make one of my own! I like the example, but I definitely had to pretty mine up a bit!
What do you think?

The frame was an ugly gold piece of work that I dug out of a discount bin. A few coats of shiny black spray paint and voila! Beautiful!

Unity Stamp Co. Pinterest Challenge

Are you on Pinterest yet? Well you SHOULD be!  It's fantastic! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!...and I'm a little addicted to it to as you will be as soon as you start.

Unity Stamp Co. is hosting a Pinterest Challenge. The idea is to use any stamps from their new Winter 2012 CHA release to make a project.  Angela from Unity is uploading all the projects onto Pinterest and then the Unity fans get to vote on their favorite entry.

I have been dabbling a bit in mixed media lately and so I decided to use the new Christy Tomlinson stamps that Unity just released!

I have also been into balloons a lot recently so I decided to combine the two.

To help me win please go HERE and "like" my project! THANKS!!!

Here is what I came up with....

Simple Stories Design Team Entry

One of my goals is to be chosen to be a part of a design team for one of my favorite scrapbooking companies. Simple Stories is one of my faves!

When I saw that they are looking for new members for their team I was so excited! They requested 4 samples of projects so I decided to make two cards and two layouts.

For my first layout I used Simple Stories 100 Days of Summer collection.

Products used: Patterned Papers: Simple Stories; Cardstock: Bazzill; Stickers: Simple Stories; Twine: The Twinery; Punch: EK Success; Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink; Pen: Zig; misc: buttons, embroidery floss

For my second layout, I used their Destinations Collection.

The above stamp is a stamp created by Simple Stories and Unity Stamp Co. It is called Hello, I'm Awesome.  I think I'm going to get a lot of use from this stamp! I think it would look great on the baby themed mini albums I make for friends and family.

Products used: Patterned Papers: Simple Stories; Stickers: Simple Stories; Brads: Basic Grey, MME; Stamp: Unity Stamp Co.; Punch: EK Success; Ink: Versafine; misc: buttons, hemp string

For my cards I didn't use Simple Stories papers, but I did use two sets of stamps that they made in coordination with Unity Stamp Co.

For the first card I used the Splatters & Stars-all boy stamp set.

Products used: Patterned Papers: Karen Foster, Craft Paper, Ki Memories, Scenic Route; Cardstock: Bazzill; Stamps: Unity Stamp Co.(stars and splatters) Stampin' Up (sentiment) Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink; Twine: The Twinery; misc:buttons, embroidery floss

For my second card I used the Absolutely Priceless set.

Products used: Patterned Papers:MME, Ki Memories, Sassafrass; Stamps: Unity Stamp Co.(balloon & sentiment), Stampin' Up (tiny tag) Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink; Pen: Zig;  Ribbon: American Crafts; misc: button, hemp string, safety pin, lace.

I have submitted my entry, and now it is up to the lovely people at Simple Stories to pick their favorites. Fingers crossed I am one of them!

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge #2

So I mentioned before that I don't really make Valentines cards, but I kind of got on a roll, and decided I would actually make one for this challenge. I was inspired this time by the pink and red and grey color scheme. I also used red embroidery floss and a heart, and included a zig zag cut on the white paper. I hope you like!

Here again is the inspiration...

And here is my interpretation...

"Love You Dearly" Products used: Pretty Phrases stamp set by Paper Smooches. Patterned Paper: MME. Cardstock: Bazzill. Red Dot Ribbon: Renaissance by Design. Misc: Buttons, embroidery floss. Distress Ink: Tim Holtz. White Ink: Stampin Up.

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge

I LOVE Paper Smooches stamps! They are the cutest. I bought a bunch of them but haven't really had much chance to play with them up till now.  To get my creative juices flowing I decided to participate in the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge

This challenge was to take inspiration from the photo below.

I was inspired by the color combo of grey and coral.  I probably should have been inspired by the heart/valentines day theme, but I don't really make Valentine cards so anyways, here is what I came up with.

Supplies used: Stamps: A Little Lovin set by Paper Smooches. Patterned papers: Crate Paper, sei, American Crafts, MME, Heidi Grace. Cardstock: Bazzill. Rose ribbon: Maya Road. Bakers Twine: The Twinery. Misc: button, grey ribbon.

I have enjoyed using a challenge as a starting point for a project.  I'm looking forward to participating again. And maybe I'll even win one of the Paper Smooches' awesome prize packs!
