Maritime Dies by Lifestyle Crafts

My first assignment as part of the Scrapy Land Fab Four was to create with some of the dies from Lifestyle Crafts/Quickutz new Maritime release. These fun dies were divided up between all of us gals. I got the cute little 2x2 whale and the 4x4 compass.

Lets start with the cute little whale...
I printed the sentiment on my computer since I didn't have a stamp that was appropriate.
I added some bling for water drops above the spray and a googly eye for fun! I love googly eyes :)
Supplies used: Pattern papers: Sassafrass, Bo Bunny, Chatterbox; Cardstock: Bazzill; Whale Die: Lifestyle Crafts/Quickutz; Heart Punch: Stampin Up; Corner rounder: EK Success; Twine: Devine Twine; Misc-button, googly eye, bling, embroidery floss, photo corners.

For my second card I decided to not to go with a water theme. I thought it might be fun for the compass to show a loved one the way home.
Here are a few tips about how I put this card together: I cut out a circle with my Spellbinders to mat behind the compass. The heart shows the direction for a loved one to go. I added a bit of distress ink to the white letters to dull them down a bit so they fit more easily with the shabby look of the card. The photo corners were originally white so I colored them with a E31 Copic marker to change them to match the card.
Supplies used: Patterned papers: Bo Bunny, Simple Stories; Tags: Girls Paperie; Compass Die: Lifestyle Crafts/Quickutz; Circle Die: Spellbinders. Heart Punch: Stampin Up; Misc: hemp twine, photo corners.

Well, that's all from me for today. I'll be back soon with more to share!
Thanks for stopping by

We wish you a Merry...

CHRISTMAS in JULY! Today is July 25th, so you know what that means! Only 5 more months till Christmas! Have you started shopping yet? LOL, not me, I'm one of those people who doesn't start the shopping until about the 20th of December. I always have the best intentions of starting early, but lets face it, I'm a procrastinator, I work best under pressure.

I have a layout to share with you today. I made it awhile back for a submission and just haven't got around to blogging it yet. I told you...I procrastinate :) Anyways, this layout has my favorite picture of my kiddos from last Christmas.
They are patiently waiting to dive into the presents, and I just love how I captured the glow of the tree and the wonder on my son's face as he looked at the pretty lights. This was his first Christmas!
All of the product is from Little Yellow Bicycle except for the little red words in the top left corner which are from October Afternoon.  Here are a few close ups for you...

Merry Christmas!!! I hope I've inspired you to get in to the spirit today!

CWC: Crops of Luv Blog Hop: Day 2

Welcome to the CookingWithCricut.com, Crops of Luv Blog Hop day 2. This month our designers chose to create layouts for the Crops of Luv Organization. If you came here from Larelyn's blog Handmade from My Heart then you are in the right place, if you would like  to start from the beginning, then just head over to Cooking with Cricut.

Crops of Luv works hand-in-hand with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and creates scrapbooks for families who have children facing life-threatening illnesses.  Our hop will focus on creating 12 x 12 Scrapbook double page LOs using these themes: Princesses, Pirates, Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Summer Fun (e.g. swimming), Christmas (yes, they have Christmas every Thursday at "Give Kids the World"), or general Disney themes.

Crops of Luv has some specific guidelines for the layouts. They need to include a journaling block or tag and mats for 3  4 x 6 pictures on each page. They also do not want the photo mats permanently adhered to the page.  That way they can flip them whichever way they need to.

So now lets have a look at what I've cooked up for this hop...
I love Monsters Inc. I even named my son Sullivan James, and the big blue monster's name is James P. Sullivan. I hope one day to be able to get a picture of my Sully with the Monster Sulley :) I used the Best of Pixar cartridge to get my cuts of Sulley, Mike and Randall.
I made them quite large (5" for Sulley) and I don't know if you would be able to go any smaller and have them look good. there is quite a lot of small details that probably wouldn't cut very good at a small size. I added googly eyes to Sulley because his eyes didn't cut out very good, but I think he looks better that way anyways.
We hope you will enjoy our creations! We would love for you to participate. You can make a two-page layout following the parameters outlined above and mail it directly to Crops of Luv c/o Roberta Baker, 11424 S. Pawnee Circle, Phoenix, AZ 85044. Since this blog hop is also a challenge, be sure to link your project to CWC/PCW.
If you would like more information about this organization, or would like to make a monetary or supply donation, please visit their web site, www.cropsofluv.com.

If you get lost along the way, please be sure to head back to CWC and start from there. Be sure to head over to CWC and leave a comment for a chance to win some blog candy and to link your own Crops of Luv creation. Now I'd love it if you hopped on over to see what Suzanne at Cricut Craftin Granny has cooked up. Thanks so much for being a part of our hop.

CWC: Brads and Buttons challenge

This week's challenge at Cooking with Cricut is to use buttons or brads on your project. I used some simple shapes and added the buttons and brads to embellish my circles. The cream circles are cut from George and Basic Shapes, and the patterned circles are actually scalloped (I'm not sure you can tell with the scallops being so tiny) and are cut from Mini Monograms.

Supplies used: patterned paper: MME; cardstock: American Crafts; sentiment stamp: Unity Stamp Co.; brads: MME; scalloped edge punch: EK Success/SU; buttons: misc.

I hope you'll stop by Cooking with Cricut and see what the rest of the DT has cooked up! And please join us and link up your creations using buttons and brads!

Thanks for stopping by today,

Guest Designer at OCS!

I am so thrilled to be one of the guest designers at One Crazy Stamper blog this month! They have a great Canadian store and for all my Canadian friends, really great prices on Copics!

I am loving 6x6 paper pads right now! especially for cards since the patterns are scaled down from the regular 12x12 size and it makes them just perfect! I used two different 6x6 pads for my OCS cards today.

The other thing I am loving are the Lulu stamps from Kraftin Kimmie! This little chick is soooooo adorable, I want all of her images. They carry the Lulu stamps and many others from Kraftin Kimmie in the OCS store, you should check 'em out! I used the Lulu set called Lulu on the Move.

First up I used the Fabulous 6x6 pad from Simple Stories
OCS product used: Copics- skin: E000, E00, E11, R20. hair: E31, E33, E35, E37, BG10, BG11, BG13. skates: R81, R83, C0, C1, C3. ground: W00, W1, W3. outline: BG0000 Lulu Stamps: Lulu on the Move; Simple Stories Fabulous 6x6 paper pad (FAB2101) This & That Graceful Asst Brads (THG27020) Buttons Asst Pink (SE026F) Maya Road Twine Pink Lemonade (TC2054) Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (M900) Scor Pal Tape 1/8 (201) Scor Pal Tape 1/4 (202) Glue Dots 3/16 Mini Sheet; Small 3D Foam Squares (01612) Large 3D Foam Squares (01610) Misc products used: Photo corners, Amy Tangerine/AC ribbon, doodlebug border sticker.

I stamped Lulu right on to one of the little journaling spots that comes in the SS 6x6 pad. I wasn't sure how my Copics would color on that paper, but it turned out really good I think. I used the tiny patterns from the pad to paperpiece her dress.
For my second card I used the What's Up 6x6 pad from Basic Grey.

OCS product used: Copics- skin: E000, E00, E11, R20. hair: E31, E33, E35, E37, BG10, BG11, BG13. shoes: BG10, BG11, BG13, hoop: BV00, BV02, BV04. ground: W00, W1, W3, W5; Lulu Stamps: Lulu on the Move; Basic Grey What’s Up 6x6 paper pad (WHA3713) Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (M900) Scor Pal Tape 1/8 (201) Scor Pal Tape 1/4 (202) Glue Dots 3/16 Mini Sheet; Misc products: buttons, photo corners, circle punch

I'm really happy with how this one came together. Again, I paperpieced her dress, and I'm just loving the little banners! That and the hoola-hoop really give this card a party feel!
Well, that's it for me today, thanks for stopping by!

Boys to Men

Happy July everyone! Wow, did that ever sneak up fast! Where did June go? Today I get to do my very first DT post for Scrapbooking Cafe Online blog, and I couldn't be more excited!

I ordered a bunch of fun goodies from the Scrapbooking Cafe Online store and waited patiently for them to arrive so I could play! Unfortunately Canada Post wasn't quite as eager I was and my parcel still hadn't arrived by the end of last week. Luckily for me I already own some product from SCO and so I was able to create a project for my post. Hopefully my new goodies arrive early this week so I can show them off to you in my next post.

First off, I made a simple little card for new baby boy. I used the This & That Charming line from Echo park and it made it so easy to put this together quite quickly.
Supplies used: Echo Park This & That Charming Collection Pack, Bakers Twine: Doodlebug, Ink: Time Holtz Distress Ink Antique Linen, Adhesives: 3D Foam Squares and Adhesive Runners from Scrapbook Adhesives, 1/2 and 1/4 inch Scor tape; Cardstock: Bazzill; Scalloped Edge punch: SU/EK Success; Misc: Buttons, embroidery floss.

For my second card I decided to make a Graduation card. This past weekend was graduation in my town and it was great to see all the young people all dressed up for Grad as well as for the Prom the following day.
Supplies used: Echo Park This & That Charming Collection Pack, Bakers Twine: Doodlebug, Brads: Echo Park, Adhesives: 3D Foam Squares and Adhesive Runners from Scrapbook Adhesives, 1/2 and 1/4 inch Scor tape; Cardstock: Bazzill; Tab punch: Fiskars/Jenni Bowlin; Misc: Buttons, embroidery floss, photo corners.

I attached a sticker from the Echo Park kit to a piece of paper and ran it through my printer to get my sentiment. I used dimensional adhesives and popped up the journaling card to give the card some dimention, and also popped up the globe sticker so that it wasn't laying flat on the card.
On the inside of the card I continued with the Dr. Seuss quote from the sentiment on the front and printed out the poem. I added a few flags made from left over scraps to fancy up the inside a bit.
Thanks so much for stopping by today.
I hope you will head on over to the Scrapbooking Cafe Online blog and become a follower so you can see what the amazingly talented design team is up to.
Reading your kind comments makes my day.
